The Dream Center Christmas was so successful, thanks to our friends and partners of this ministry. KSLT Christian Radio who sponsored WAEM again this year for the event did a great job! A few hundred gift boxes came into the studio! We were so blessed to see the generosity of many local families and churches. The local food bank was able to have over 9000 lbs of food the ministry purchased ready to pick up.
The BREAKOUT TEENS helped give gifts this year to the little ones, it was so wonderful to watch them give of themselves and work the event. God is so good!! They also spent the night at the Dream Center the night of the events. During the day on Saturday, of the weekend of events, we also drove 65 miles each way to take Christmas to the village of Potato Creek. Gifts, food, blankets for a community that is so far out and do not get the recognition for their children.
Grandma’s came with their grandchildren often seeking not only gifts for her grandchildren but also a hug, a smile, and some warmth. Its cold, its weary, some despairing but always these grandma’s have a big smile to share. Yes, maybe that is all they have to give is a smile. The little grandma’s with so many children to provide for struggle to do their best and they depend on Jesus to help them give gifts to their grandchildren. Many do not have anything to give on Christmas morning, so the ministry always puts some away to give them a few days later. It’s a secret ... sssh ... don’t tell … and their smiles? The best gift of all. :D
Over 3,000 toys are needed for this upcoming Christmas season for the Native Youth! Seniors are also in need of a gift! Help us deliver Christmas to the children and seniors on reservations in South Dakota and Wyoming! Won't you GIVE Christmas away!
The summer was a good one. The ministry was able to help and love on many children. I would not be me if I did not also express the horrors and sorrows I heard from some of these children’s voices. My heart was broken many times this summer from the cries and extreme pain of these little ones.
